Here are seven reasons why a website is the most important digital asset for boosting your business success.

1. Your business’s most important digital asset

Your website is like the home base for your business, but online. It’s where you can showcase your products or services and provide information about your business. It’s the first thing potential customers see when they search for you online. And you what they say, first impressions last!

👨🏻‍🍳 let’s say you run a bakery, and someone is looking for a cake for their family member’s birthday party. They search for “bakery near me” on Google, and your website pops up. They click on it, and voila – they see all the amazing cakes you offer, your location and hours, and some great reviews from happy customers. Now, they’re convinced that your bakery is the place to go for their special occasion!

2. Better visibility and attracting customers

Having a website can greatly increase your visibility online. Without a website, it’s hard for potential customers to find you. Plus, having a website makes your business look more professional and credible. You don’t want to be the only business in your industry without a website, do you? Personally, if I find a business on Google Maps and they don’t have a website, I’m less inclined to trust that business.

👩🏻‍💼 Let’s say you’re a small accounting firm, and you’re trying to attract new clients. Without a website, it’s hard for people to know what services you offer, how to contact you, or even what your office looks like. But with a website, you can showcase your expertise, share some testimonials from happy clients, show photos and maps of your office and even include a blog with helpful tax tips. Now, potential clients can find you easily, and they’re more likely to trust you with their finances.

3. Improve customer service, engagement and build strong customer relationships

Having a website with information about your business can actually improve your customer service and engagement. You can include FAQs, contact forms, and even a chatbot to help customers with their questions or concerns. And when customers feel heard and supported, they’re more likely to become loyal fans of your business.

🐶 Let’s say you run a pet store, and someone is interested in adopting a cute little puppy. They have lots of questions about the adoption process, but they’re not sure if adoption is right for them. With a website, you can include frequently asked questions or FAQs and of course, if your FAQs don’t answer any specific questions, your website can easily have a contact form after the FAQs so people can quickly and easily submit any other questions to you.

4. Your Best Employee

Imagine this magical employee that never sleeps, you don’t have to pay a salary or they make you money 24/7? Sounds good to be true, right?

Well, that’s exactly what a website does for your business.

Your website is a 24/7 digital sales rep for your business. It never sleeps, it never takes a day off, and it’s always ready to sell your products or services to anyone who visits. And let’s be real, your website is your all-year-around employee of the year!

5. Cost-effectiveness and revenue growth

Let’s talk about the cost-effectiveness of a website. Compared to traditional advertising methods, a website is a very cost-effective marketing tool. You only have to pay for the design and development, which can be affordable in comparison to running Ads and publishing marketing materials. It’s yours to use as much as you want. Plus, as mentioned before, it’s always working for you, even when you’re not actively promoting it.

6. But What about Social Media?

Now, I know what some of you might be thinking – “But I have a Facebook page and an Instagram account, isn’t that enough?” Well, not exactly.

While social media is great for connecting with customers and promoting your business, it does have some downsides. For one thing, social media platforms are always changing their algorithms, which can affect how many people see your posts. Plus, you don’t actually own your social media pages. In reality, you’re just renting digital space to promote your business.

Your social media can be blocked or taken down. A lot of that is not within your control and as a business owner, you want to have as much control over your business.

7. Sense of Pride and Bragging Rights

You know once that new shiny website is done, you want to show it off! Owning a website can be a source of pride and accomplishment for business owners. It’s like a digital masterpiece that showcases your business to the world. Let’s be real, it’s also great to tell your friends and family that you have a website for your business.

8. Actionable Items

So if you’ve stuck around to the very end… first of all, thank you!

I want to leave you with some actionable items out of this:

  1. Firstly, if you’ve got a business you’ve wanted to start or grow or maybe have a side hustle that you ultimately want to be your main source of income, ask yourself this… Are you ready to invest time and money to work towards this goal?

  2. If you’ve taken everything in and you’re convinced or a little keen on building a professional website, book a call.

So there you have it, seven reasons why a website is the most important digital asset for your business. It’s a cost-effective way to increase your visibility, credibility, and sales.
